Grobstick's hat trick helped the Whalers crush the RiverWolves 9-2

Carter Grobstick led the way with a hat trick as the Wisconsin Whalers crushed the Wausau RiverWolves 9-2 in a home game at Marathon Park in Wisconsin. Besides, the Wisconsin Whalers' offense had a big night, peppering Wausau with 61 shots throughout the game. The Wisconsin Whalers took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Graham Day.

Graham Day contributed with 2 goals and Trevor Timm chipped in with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist). Garrett Alton did his part, adding 2 assists.

In the first period, Grobstick opened the scoring for the Whalers with a goal at 0:42 with a helper from Rogers.

During the second, Fisk deposited a goal at 0:19 with helpers from teammates Mros and Rogers. Hempel finally put the RiverWolves on the board with a goal at 6:07 with assists from his linemates, Alton and Rukamp. Day quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 6:46 with helpers from Fortin and Marshman. Timm quickly followed with a goal at 7:10 with assists from Rohrer and Onstott. Mcdermott scored a goal at 16:47 with helpers from Hefty and Hanson. Day quickly followed with a goal at 18:20 with assists from teammates Fortin and Marshman.

In the third, Grobstick deposited a goal at 9:10 with helpers from his linemates, Rogers and Mros. Irwin quickly followed with a goal at 10:18 with assists from his linemates, Burgener and Alton. Timm answered for the Whalers with a goal at 12:49 with helpers from his linemates, Tobey and Marshman. Grobstick put in a goal at 15:10 with assists from Timm and Hefty.

Wisconsin’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Hufford’s big night as he stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced. Hufford’s counterpart, Sanzottera, also had a big night, managing to stop 52 of 61, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Wisconsin Whalers’ record to (16-23-1-1).
