Late goal helps the Whalers defeat the Mustangs 3-2

Jimmy Mcdermott scored the game winning goal late in the game as the Wisconsin Whalers defeat the the Peoria Mustangs 3-2 in a home game at Owens Center in Wisconsin. Besides, the Wisconsin Whalers' offense had a big night, peppering Peoria with 43 shots throughout the game.

Carter Grobstick delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Jimmy Mcdermott did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first period, Power Wayvon opened the scoring for the Mustangs with a goal at 1:50 with a helper from Straker.

In the second, Fortin answered for Wisconsin with a goal at 9:59 with a helper from Mcdermott.

During the third, Radley answered for Peoria with a goal at 2:49 with assists from his linemates, Stewart and Keil. Grobstick answered for the Whalers with a goal at 16:40 with a helper from Rogers. Mcdermott scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 19:29 with assists from teammates Fisk and Grobstick.

Wisconsin’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Earls as he stopped 23 of the 25 shots he faced. Earls’ counterpart, Meyer, also had a big night, managing to stop 40 of 43, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Wisconsin Whalers’ record to (4-12-0-1).
