Rogers' hat trick helped the Whalers crush the Ice Hawks 7-3

Nick Rogers led the way with a hat trick as the Wisconsin Whalers crushed the Rochester Ice Hawks 7-3 in a home game at Oregon Ice Arena in Wisconsin. As well, the Wisconsin Whalers' offense had a big night, peppering Rochester with 72 shots throughout the game. The Wisconsin Whalers took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Nick Rogers.

Carter Grobstick delivered for his team with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Anthony Fortin chipped in with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists). Colby Decarlo had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Noah Roach contributed with 2 assists.

In the first, Renn opened the scoring for Rochester with a goal at 2:30 with helpers from his linemates, Decarlo and Roach. Grobstick answered for Wisconsin with a goal at 4:41 with helpers from Rogers and Hefty. Fortin netted a goal at 8:23. Decarlo answered for the Ice Hawks with a goal at 11:47 with assists from his teammates Hoffman and Paulson.

In the second, Rogers answered for the Whalers with a goal at 1:51 with helpers from his linemates, Grobstick and Mros. Rogers scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 5:28 with assists from his linemates, Mros and Grobstick. Hefty deposited a goal at 8:22 with helpers from Fortin and Mcdermott. Rogers quickly followed with a goal at 8:25 with an assist from defenseman Hefty. Westphal quickly followed with a goal at 9:24 with helpers from Roach and Decarlo.

During the third period, Suszek answered for Wisconsin with a goal at 7:33 with assists from his linemates, Mcdermott and Fortin.

The Whalers’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Hufford’s big night as he stopped 35 of the 38 shots he faced. Hufford’s counterpart, Schenkenberg, also had a big night, managing to stop 27 of 33, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Wisconsin Whalers’ record to (5-15-0-1).
