The Whalers defeat the Ice Hawks 5-3

Alex Hufford came up big, stopping 37 of 40 shots throughout the game. The Wisconsin Whalers took the lead early in the third on a goal from Connor Boscaccy.

Austin Lewis contributed with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Nate Kuta had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists). Skylar Watt chipped in with 2 goals and Colby Decarlo delivered for his team with 3 assists.

During the first period, Watt opened the scoring for the Ice Hawks with a goal at 9:15 with a helper from Decarlo. Watt deposited a goal at 15:38 with a helper from his teammate Decarlo.

In the second, Grobstick finally put Wisconsin on the board with a goal at 4:11 with assists from his linemates, Lewis and Boscaccy. Lewis netted a goal at 7:22 with helpers from Boscaccy and Kuta.

During the third period, Kuta deposited a goal at 1:05 with assists from Boscaccy and Lewis. Boscaccy scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 4:31 with helpers from Kuta and Faulkner. Resch put in a goal at 13:36 with an assist from his linemate Richards. Bill quickly followed with a goal at 14:12 with helpers from his linemates, Shupert and Decarlo.

Wisconsin’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Hufford’s big night as he stopped 37 of the 40 shots he faced. Hufford’s counterpart, Schmitz, also had a big night, managing to stop 42 of 47, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Wisconsin Whalers’ record to (36-46-10-0)
