The Whalers struggled against the Freeze 5-2 in home game

Brendan Earls came up big, stopping 40 of 45 shots throughout the game. The La Crosse Freeze took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Clayton Lackey.

Thomas Magnavite contributed with 2 goals and Matthew Francois did his part, adding 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists).

During the first period, Magnavite opened the scoring for La Crosse with a goal at 19:55 with helpers from his teammates Losen and Ratzloff.

In the second, Steines answered for Wisconsin with a goal at 2:17 with an assist from Rogers. Magnavite answered for the Freeze with a goal at 8:37 with a helper from Francois. Lackey scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 12:35 with an assist from Francois. Poellinger deposited a goal at 15:54. Francois quickly followed with a goal at 16:32 with helpers from his linemates, Lindauer and Tilmon.

In the third period, Ether answered for Wisconsin with a goal at 17:57 with assists from Hefty and Mcdermott.

This loss brings the Wisconsin Whalers’ record to (15-23-1-1).
