Carter Grobstick did his part, adding 2 goals and Nick Rogers chipped in with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists). Trevor Timm contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Matthew Shupert delivered for his team with 2 assists.
During the first period, Moots opened the scoring for the Ice Hawks with a goal at 9:46 with helpers from his linemates, Roach and Renn. Timm deposited a goal at 15:16 with helpers from his linemates, Shupert and Smits. Watt netted a goal at 17:28 with assists from his linemates, Timm and Shupert.
In the second, Grobstick finally put the Whalers on the board with a goal at 13:30 with assists from teammates Fortin and Hefty. Steines scored a goal at 16:31 with helpers from Mcdermott and Hefty.
In the third, Allamian deposited a goal at 4:40 with helpers from his linemates, Rogers and Mcdermott. Rogers netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 10:40 with assists from Mcdermott and Hefty. Grobstick put in a goal at 14:12 with assists from his linemates, Mcdermott and Rogers.
The Whalers’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Earls’ big night as he stopped 34 of the 37 shots he faced. Earls’ counterpart, Murphy, also had a big night, managing to stop 52 of 57, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Wisconsin Whalers’ record to (6-15-0-1).
