In the first period, Fortin opened the scoring for Wisconsin with a goal at 1:43 with helpers from Grobstick and Huson. Huson quickly followed with a goal at 3:22 with helpers from his teammates Grobstick and Fortin. Fortin quickly followed with a goal at 3:58 with assists from his linemates, Rogers and Grobstick. Zukowski finally put La Crosse on the board with a goal at 6:10 with helpers from his linemates, Beversdof and Beversdorf. Rogers answered for Wisconsin with a goal at 14:13 with assists from his linemates, Grobstick and Fortin. Mcdermott quickly followed with a goal at 14:54 with helpers from teammates Gille and Rohrer.
During the second, Seeger answered for La Crosse with a goal at 0:21 with assists from Francois and Bettis. Seeger scored a goal at 19:00 with a helper from defenseman Gargaro. Tilmon quickly followed with a goal at 19:38.
In the third period, Duncan put in a goal at 11:00 with an assist from fellow Freeze forward Tilmon. Seeger deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 15:09.
