Besides, the Whalers' defense had a poor night, allowing the RiverWolves 39 shots throughout the game. The Wausau RiverWolves took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Owen Routheut.

Suszek quickly followed with a goal at 6:26 with helpers from his linemates, Ether and Mros. Routheut quickly followed with a goal at 7:11 with assists from his linemates, Slot and Irwin. Routheut deposited a goal at 9:54 with helpers from Slot and Renter. Ether answered for Wisconsin with a goal at 13:22 with assists from Mros and Huson. Moore answered for the RiverWolves with a goal at 19:18.
